The working paper series allows faculty of the Department of Political Science to present their research to an interdisciplinary audience drawn from within and outside of the department. Lehman faculty and students are welcome to attend and contribute to the discussion. Speaker: Prof. Jeannette Graulau (Political Science): Moderator: Prof. Alfonso Gonzales (Political Science) Title: 'Mining, money and capital before the 1600s'. About the presenter: Jeannette Graulau has written about mining in South America and the financial history of mining. Her research interests include extractive frontiers, metal trade, and mining investments in historical perspective. She has contributed to the Communities and Small-Scale Mining initiative of the World Bank Group and the Mining Law Committee of the International Bar Association.
