Prison Narratives: Changing the Story

Event Description
This one-day symposium will include a poetry slam from inside Ohio's Marion Correctional Institution via SKYPE, followed by a Q&A with audience and performers; a screening of "Zero Percent," an HBO documentary about Hudson Link's College Program at Sing Sing, followed by a Q&A with Sean Pica, executive director; a conversation about Reentry with Hudson Link alumni, Lehman College alumna Starlene Patterson, and Kevin Cleare; and a performance and panel discussion with three-time Apollo Award Winner Messiah.

This symposium is hosted by the African & African American Studies, Women's Studies, Urban Male Initiative, and the City and Humanities Program.
