End Date: 10/27/2013End Time: 4:00 PM

Event Description
The Lehman College Community Band will celebrate the fall season with “Autumnal Variations,” a free concert featuring a cornucopia of music from around the world.

Directed by Professor Alan Hollander, the program will feature Giuseppe Verdi’s dramatic Overture to Nabucco, the Finale of Camille Saint-Saens’ lush “Organ” Symphony, Paul Hindemith’s intense March from Symphonic Metamorphosis, and J.S. Bach’s beautifully lyrical Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring. Also to be performed are “Hobbits,” from Johan de Meij’s Lord of the Rings Symphony and Maurice Ravel’s haunting Pavane for a Dead Princess.

Rounding out the program will be a medley of songs from the ever-popular Broadway musical Man of La Mancha, featuring Lehman graduate student, baritone Darian Worrell.
