Event Description LALPRS will host a Video Conference on the Puerto Rican Diaspora, featuring discussions with national experts (as well as our own faculty) on important issues—both historical and contemporary—affecting migrants and their communities throughout the U.S. At 1 p.m., Professor Alyshia Gálvez will give a talk at the Lehman College Bookstore on her award-winning book, “Patient Citizens, Immigrant Mothers.” From 2–3:30 p.m., join us in Carman Lecture Hall B-39, where we will hear from alumni (Iván Waldo, Minerva Velázquez-Muñoz, and others) about their experiences as LALPRS students and graduates. Musical performance by famed harpist Verónica Valerio. Reception (tamales) outside B-39 at 3 p.m. |
