Event Description South African anti-Apartheid activist Eddie Daniels joined the Liberal Party, which protested the oppression of the Apartheid regime by sabotaging government utilities. Captured, he was imprisoned for 15 years on Robben Island, where he befriended Nelson Mandela. Mandela says of Daniels, We recall his loyalty and courage; his sense of humor and justice, as well as total commitment to the struggle of the prisoners for the eradication of injustice and for the betterment of their conditions.
This event will take place in the Library's Atrium on the second floor.
