Event Description The Music Department and the School of Arts and Humanities will sponsor a panel discussion on career opportunities in music by Lee Evans, John Kaefer, and Heidi Wolfgang. Music Professors David Claman and Molly Morkoski will moderate the discussion.
Lee Evans is a musician and producer who has worked with such artists as Afrikaa Bambaataa, Queen Latifah, and Mark Anthony. He runs JAMBOX studios in Manhattan and regularly teaches audio engineering for local artists.
John Kaefer is a Julliard-trained composer who writes music for network television and advertising while remaining an active composer of concert music. His credits include the theme songs for 20/20 and Good Morning America, and his classical music has been performed at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center.
Heidi Wolfgang is a music teacher and director of the Music Institute at the Hackley School in Terrytown, New York. She also provides technical support for the Interlochen Center for the Arts, performs as a free-lance musician in New York, and teaches private lessons in oboe and piano.
This panel is free and open to the public. If you're a music major, a practicing musician looking for a break, or just interested in how musicians support themselves, check it out. |
