Event Description Delving into his family’s history, David Kincaid discovered that his Irish-American great-great grandfather had fought in the Union’s Army of the Potomac during the Civil War. Kincaid used this inspiration to record his first solo album: ”The Irish Volunteer-Songs of the Irish Union Soldier 1861-65.” Kincaid has been invited to play at venues across the country, and his music has also been used in several documentary films. Kincaid was also involved with the film “Gods and Generals.” Kincaid's second album is “The Irish-American’s Song,” which includes songs of the Irish in both the Union and the Confederacy. Co-sponsored by the Department of History and the Institute of Irish-American Studies. |
