Event Description
The Center for Human Rights and Peace Studies at Lehman
College will host an international conference to stop violence against women in
Central America, promote women’s human rights, and enhance women’s
participation in strengthening rule of law, and access to justice.
Featuring
human rights advocates from Guatemala, Costa Rica, El Salvador, and Nicaragua,
as well as from the U.S., the conference offers new ways of understanding
contemporary violence in Central America. Our goal is to identify remedies to
address violence against women and feminicide (the killing of women) at the
local and regional levels.
