Anne Rice, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Department of Africana Studies discusses,
"Teaching in Prison:  Challenges and Rewards"

Dr. Rice's talk discusses pedagogical challenges particularly relating to gender identities and the strategies she and her colleagues at Hudson Link have developed to address them. Just walking in and replicating a course from a college on the outside is not going to work.  She will describe specific challenges and rewards teaching different subjects and course levels from pre-college to upper level courses and lessons learned through years of discussion with students, careful reflection, and trial and error.
