Part of the Sara Little Turnbull Visiting Designer Speaker Series

Zach Blas is an artist, filmmaker, writer, and assistant professor at the University of Toronto whose practice spans moving image, computation, theory, performance, and science fiction. Blas engages the materiality of digital technologies while also drawing out the philosophies and imaginaries lurking in artificial intelligence, biometric recognition, predictive policing, airport security, the internet, and biological warfare.

Stephen Redenti is an associate professor of biology and biochemistry at Lehman College and the City University of New York Graduate Center. His lab’s research, funded by the National Institute of Health, explores cellular communication involved in the development and regeneration of retinal and other central nervous system tissue.

Held at the beginning of every academic year, Convocation welcomes students and faculty to the College. Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Student Success Peter O. Nwosu will preside over the event, and President Fernando Delgado will discuss the College’s priorities for the new year.
