Event Description:
Celebrate Constitution Day at Lehman College on FRIDAY, September 17.
Constitution Day commemorates the ratification of the U.S. Constitution and provides an opportunity for us to think about how we can help “form a more perfect Union.”
This is a one-day, virtual, pop-in event focusing on U.S. citizenship and naturalization.
Citizenship status is one of the few legal foundations for limiting the rights of entire groups of people.
Please join us, through Google Docs, in a discussion about how race, gender, and perceptions of character and ability helped shaped U.S. citizenship and naturalization law.
Organized by Prof. Michael Buckley, Director of the Center for Human Rights and Peace Studies at Lehman College. |
