Event Image CUNY Consortium on Food and Housing Insecurity with Dr. Sara Goldrick-Rab

Join us for the release of Dr. Sara Goldrick-Rab's latest major study of food and housing insecurity at CUNY, followed by a discussion on introducing better policies and practices to address basic needs security across the University. 

This event is free and open to the public. 

11 am-12 pm CUNY staff and faculty discussions with Dr. Sara Goldrick-Rab (Music Bldg., East Dining Rm.)
1-2 pm Keynote Presentation (Livestream); Carman Hall, Multimedia Center, C-36  (Limited seating available)

Dr. Goldrick-Rab is professor of Higher Education Policy and Sociology at Temple University, and the Founder of the Hope Center for College, Community, and Justice in Philadelphia, as well as the Wisconsin HOPE Lab. She describes herself as a scholar-activist whose mission is to "identify novel approaches to making higher education the accessible and affordable place that families want and need it to be."

To this end, she has led more than a dozen experimental, longitudinal, and mixed-methods studies, examining the efficacy and distributional implications of financial aid policies, welfare reform, transfer practices, and a range of interventions aimed at increasing college attainment among marginalized populations.

Lehman Wellness Presents Wellness Week: Wellness week is a weeklong celebration where students learn about their health and self-care. Starting with our Kickball Kick-off, students are invited to attend workshops and events that will teach them how to eat, play and be well.

Annual Health Fair

Finding Funding with COS Pivot

COS Pivot is a funding database funded by RF to assist faculty in finding funding and connecting with collaborators both inside and outside of the institution.  PIVOT sends email alerts when funding opportunities that match certain key words are available.This webinar will instruct faculty on find specific funding opportunities that aligns with their areas of research.

Food Stamp Assistance

Visit the Student Health Center for assistance in obtaining food stamps. Assistants will be available on alternate Tuesdays from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., starting September 2.
Free HIV Testing
12:00 PM - 4:00 PM

The Student Health Center will deliver free 20-minute oral HIV testing on the following schedule:

Beginning September 2
Mondays from 1-4 p.m.
Alternate Tuesdays from 12-4 p.m.

Beginning September 4
Wednesdays from 12-4 p.m.
Alternate Thursdays from 12-4 p.m.
Marathon Table Sign Up

Volunteer for the 2014 TCS New York City Marathon on Sunday, November 2.

There will be 48,000 runners who will need water and Gatorade to keep them fueled. They will need YOU and YOUR spirit at Mile 20, the only Bronx water station, to help cheer and move them along! Visit our Marathon Table to sign up today.

The Student Health Center will provide GYN services on the following schedule during the Fall.
Beginning September 2:
Mondays 3-5 p.m.
Tuesdays 2-6 p.m.

Appointments need to be made in person since a validated ID and a $5 deposit are required.
