Event Description:
The Lehman Woodwind Quintet will give its fall concert on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at 2 p.m. in the Music Building’s Recital Hall. Entitled “An Autumn Perspective,” the program offers a broad range of the music and colors of the woodwind quintet. Mozart’s charming Serenade for Winds is contrasted by the dramatic dances of Poulenc’s Suite Francaise. The seasonally appropriate Pastoral by Persichetti sets an autumnal mood, and the fabulous tone poem from the third act of Puccini’s opera Tosca, arranged for wind quintet by Frank Morelli, captures the mood and spirit of this great operatic work.
The quintet is led by oboist and Lehman Associate Professor Alan Hollander. There is no fee for admission, but all donations are welcomed. |
