Dr. Tibi Galis: Atrocity Prevention from Africa to the Americas
Since 2006 Dr. Tibi Galis has served as Executive Director of Auschwitz Institute for Peace and Reconciliation [AIPR]. Born and raised in Romania, he earned his BA in Law and Political Science from Babes-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca. He received an MA in International Politics and Political Development from University of Manchester, and PhD from Strassler Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies at Clark University, with a focus on transitional justice.
Previously Dr. Galis worked as Associate Researcher for the UK Parliament, helping develop the British position on the UN Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide – as well as rapporteur for the Swedish government at 2004 Stockholm International Forum on the Prevention of Genocide. |
