Event Description: The Lehman Chamber Players will kick off their musical season at Lehman College with a performance of works by Brahms,Hans Gal, Lazlo Weiner, and Telemann Saturday, October 7, at 2 p.m. The public is invited to the free concert, which will be held in the Recital Hall on the third floor of the Music Building. Seating is limited.
The program will feature a variety of late Romantic works including Brahms' dramatic Piano Quartet in C minor, a lively quintet by Telemann, a playful Trio for Oboe, Cello and Piano by Hans Gal; and the intense duo for violin and viola by the Hungarian composer, Lazlo Weiner, who perished in the Holocaust.
Members of the Chamber Players include critically acclaimed violinist Anton Miller and violist Rita Porfiris, professors of violin and viola at the Hartt College of Music in Connecticut; cellist, Hamilton Berry, a Juilliard alumnus; and oboist Alan Hollander, and pianist Diana Mittler-Battipaglia, both professors of music at Lehman College. |
