CUNY Consortium on Food and Housing Insecurity with Dr. Sara Goldrick-Rab
Join us for the release of Dr. Sara Goldrick-Rab's latest major study of food and housing insecurity at CUNY, followed by a discussion on introducing better policies and practices to address basic needs security across the University. 

This event is free and open to the public. 

11 am-12 pm CUNY staff and faculty discussions with Dr. Sara Goldrick-Rab (Music Bldg., East Dining Rm.)
1-2 pm Keynote Presentation (Livestream); Carman Hall, Multimedia Center, C-36  (Limited seating available)

Dr. Goldrick-Rab is professor of Higher Education Policy and Sociology at Temple University, and the Founder of the Hope Center for College, Community, and Justice in Philadelphia, as well as the Wisconsin HOPE Lab. She describes herself as a scholar-activist whose mission is to "identify novel approaches to making higher education the accessible and affordable place that families want and need it to be."

To this end, she has led more than a dozen experimental, longitudinal, and mixed-methods studies, examining the efficacy and distributional implications of financial aid policies, welfare reform, transfer practices, and a range of interventions aimed at increasing college attainment among marginalized populations.

The ReelAbilities Film Festival showcases award-winning international films, presenting the stories and expression of people with disabilities. The festival brings communities together to explore, discuss, and celebrate the diversity of shared human experiences. Following the screenings there will be a Q&A and an opportunity to meet some of the filmmakers.

Technology Boot Camp (Multi-Day Event)
The time is now to register for our 2013 summer technology boot camp series August 20-22. Lehman College professors and adjuncts who participate in three or more workshops and who create a project-based assignment for dissemination to your colleagues are eligible for a generous stipend. There are only a few spots available for most of the August workshops, so register now. Space is limited to 10 registrants per workshop.
