Graduate Day: Graduate Student Workshops, Orientation, and Reception
Congratulations to our newly admitted graduate students! We have designated Tuesday, August 16 as Graduate Day. This means that incoming Graduate students can visit the Grad Student Central in the Shuster Hall Lobby starting at 12:30pm. Staff and volunteers will be available to assist you in getting to Common Departmental Advising, Graduate Studies and the Student ID Office. Workshops will also be available from 3:30pm to 5:30pm. You will end your day at the Graduate Student Orientation and Reception (6:00pm - 8:00pm). There you will be introduced to a variety of people and services available to support you throughout your graduate experience. You will learn a great deal of information regarding what it means to be a student at Lehman and how we as administration, faculty, and staff can support you. Academic Convocation
In celebration of the start of the new academic year, the College will hold its annual Academic Convocation to welcome new students to Lehman College, and to honor faculty and staff awardees. The program begins with a formal procession of the faculty in academic regalia. A special feature of the Convocation program is the recognition of faculty and staff recipients of Lehman awards for excellence in teaching, research, and service. The Convocation will take place on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Lovinger Theater. A reception for students, faculty, and staff will immediately follow in the Faculty Dining Room.

Hispanic Film Festival
The Department of Languages and Literatures invites you to join us for our Hispanic Film Festival. Every Wednesday from September 7th to October 5th we will screen a selection of great Latin American films. The movies will be screened in the Lovinger Theatre September 7th – Who is Dayani Cristal? (Mexico) September 14th – The return (Costa Rica) September 21st – With my heart in Yambo (Ecuador) September 28th – Here and there (USA, Spain, Mexico) October 5th – Chinese take-away (Argentina) FREE ADMISSION.
