Event Description: The Center for Human Rights and Peace Studies will hold a talk, titled "Human Rights, Rule of Law, and Peace-Making in Latin America. Genocide on Trial: Impunity in Guatemala and Beyond." Jose Carlos Marroquin is a journalist, newspaper publisher (La Hora, Guatemala), political strategist, advocate for transparency of government practices, and was a key consultant on anti-corruption work for Cicig - the UN-backed International Commission Against Impunity in Guatemala. Uriel Levy is the director of Combat Genocide Association (Israel), son of a Holocaust survivor and founder of the Never Again Coalition - Universal Alliance to End Genocide. |
