Join us on Wednesday, March 22 from 4:00 - 5:30 PM to get some tips about writing your Personal Statement Essay for your graduate school application.  We will talk about how the statement is used by an admissions committee, how to handle potentially negative information in your record, how the essay is normally structured, and a host of other suggestions.

Virtual Reality Training Academy (Multi-Day Event)

The Virtual Reality Training Academy teaches the skills needed to create Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality applications for industry and education covering many diverse fields, including: architecture, product visualization, game creation, multimedia design, and broadcast media.

Come
and network with your peers and know more about our next VR program starting in spring 2020. You will have the chance to speak to the instructor(s) and former participants. A 15-week/180 hour course, on immersive media. Composed of eight modules, the course will focus on the Unity platform as the means to developing content for Augmented and Virtual Reality.  Students will receive a Lehman College certificate and badge.

Two-week online workshop “Enhancing Your (Online or Hybrid) Course through the Use of Open Educational Resources (OER)” (Multi-Day Event)

Are you looking to refresh and renew your course? Want to engage students with course materials? Are you looking to replace an expensive textbook that often goes unread by students? Would you like to become more aware of resources available in your discipline for possible reuse by you or your students? Hoping to enhance or remix your course materials with fresh and stimulating text or multimedia content?

We invite you to register for our online workshop, “Enhancing Your (Online or Hybrid) Course with Open Educational Resources (OER)." As this is an online workshop, you don’t need to be to campus.

About the workshop:

  • This asynchronous online workshop will provide a deep dive into Open Educational Resources (OER) and how to find, evaluate, and make a plan to integrate OER in your course.
  • Workshop is appropriate both for those new to the subject as well as those who have already worked with OER.
  • You are eligible to be compensated for 10 NTA hours (up to $550 total) upon successful completion of the workshop.
  • Please note that faculty teaching online and hybrid, multi-section and high-enrollment courses will be given priority.
  • The workshop is open to full-time and part-time faculty. Part-time faculty need to have an active appointment in order to participate.
  • Faculty who have taken this workshop in the past are not eligible to take it again. If you are not sure if you have participated, please see the list of Lehman faculty who have successfully completed the workshop.
