12:00 PM - 2:00 PM | Library Innovation: Makerspaces Featuring Professor Jonah Brucker-Cohen
Join Journalism and Media Studies’ Jonah Brucker-Cohen and Hudson County Community College’s Jennie Pu and James Cox
for a discussion about maker culture and opportunities for college
makerspaces. Makerspaces are facilities where patrons can build new objects using a variety of tools and materials: anything from a 3D printer, sewing machine - or even junk and discards.
Brucker-Cohen
will present his work on the “Scrapyard Challenge” workshops, a
pioneering hardware hacking and interface design workshop held around
the world since 2003. Pu and Cox will share
the evolution of Hudson County Community College Library's Makerspace
