Event Description:
One Book-One New York is the largest community reading program in the country, bringing together book-loving New Yorkers to read the same book at the same time. Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, award-winning author and MacArthur Fellow, is winner of this year’s campaign. Americanah is a powerful, tender story of love and race centered around a young man and woman from Nigeria who face difficult choices and challenges in the country they come to call home. Lehman College will host this event with a special panel discussion with Prof. Bertrade Banoum, Africana and Women’s Studies; Anne Rice, Africana Studies; and Susan Watson Turner, Music, Multimedia, Theatre, Dance.
