4:00 PM - 7:00 PM | Eighteenth Annual J.G.Sala Music Competition Lehman College's Music Program to host the Eighteenth Annual Concerto Competition
Named in memory of Professor Jerome G. Sala, the competition is open to any high
school student musician who plays a
woodwind, brass, or mallet percussion instrument, and who resides in the
lower Hudson Valley region, including New York City, Long Island,
Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Orange and Northern New Jersey.
Applicants
must
present a solo suitable for performance with wind band, such as Haydn's
Trumpet Concerto or Chaminade's Concertino for Flute. The winner will
receive a $500 prize and will perform his/her solo with the Lehman
College & Community Band in concert on Sunday, May 19, 2019. Judging
is based both on technical skill and artistic presentation.
