An exploration of the rich traditional music heritage of County Mayo in the west of Ireland, performed by internationally acclaimed musicians Jerry O’Sullivan (uilleann pipes), Denny McCarthy (fiddle), Lehman College alumna Dawn Doherty (vocals); Sean McPhail (guitar); and Lehman Irish music instructor Colin Harte (bodhrán/piano).

Since its successful three-year run on Broadway, Swiss based theater troupe MUMMENSCHANZ has pioneered a new form of visual theater that has since spawned multiple new genres reclaiming their legacy.

 

MUMMENSCHANZ has been dazzling audiences worldwide for more than 45 years.  By creating a playful yet compelling experience through the inventive use of shadow, light, and creative manipulation of objects, MUMMENSCHANZ offers timeless insight on the human condition. The result is a visually stunning spectacle that transcends cultural barriers and sparks the imagination.

Get out your dancing shoes! Colombian salsa kings Grupo Niche enjoy great popularity throughout Latin America. Often called the “Salsa Experience,” the band performs an invigorating range of uptempo dance music as well as romantic numbers in their dazzling live shows.

Grupo Niche is coming back to Lehman Center for an exciting 40th Anniversary performance! Every time they are here it blows the roof off the house. Don’t miss your chance to see them this year!

Virtual Reality Training Academy (Multi-Day Event)

The Virtual Reality Training Academy teaches the skills needed to create Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality applications for industry and education covering many diverse fields, including: architecture, product visualization, game creation, multimedia design, and broadcast media.

Come
and network with your peers and know more about our next VR program starting in spring 2020. You will have the chance to speak to the instructor(s) and former participants. A 15-week/180 hour course, on immersive media. Composed of eight modules, the course will focus on the Unity platform as the means to developing content for Augmented and Virtual Reality.  Students will receive a Lehman College certificate and badge.

From Page to Screen with filmmaker Merve Kayan
Turkish-American filmmaker Merve Kayan will be sharing selections from her past and current work in memoir, screenplay, treatment and project proposal formats. The presentation will include excerpts from her films in order to observe how an idea may move from the page to the screen.

Unity Platform Introduction to 2D

The goal of this workshop is to get participants up and running with Unity, focusing specifically on working independently with its suite of 2D features. As participants work through the activities, they will build a 2D game from the ground up, covering major subject areas including sprites, animation, game mechanics, and publishing.
