Ashley Alyssa Carvajal was born and raised in Corona, Queens. At an early age, she admired the arts and desired to influence others with the power of music. She participated in school choirs through elementary and intermediate school. Then, at Long Island City High School, she discovered her love for Opera. She began her Classical training under the direction of Jayne Skoog and Dr. Joseph Bartolozzi, and was a member of both the Concert Choir and Orchestra.
After moving to the Bronx, Ashley began studying voice at Lehman College with Osceola Davis-Smith, and participating in the Student Chamber Ensemble. She completes her Bachelor’s degree in Music this spring, and plans to continue her studies in Lehman’s Master of Music Education program in the fall.
The selected repertoire performed for this recital showcases the growth that Ashley has made at Lehman College. |
