Turnbull Lecture Series - Spring 2023


Join us Fridays at noon for the latest Turnbull series that examines queer and binary representation within the world of art and design, as well as its audiences. The series coincides with and is conceptually aligned with Lehman College Art Gallery’s spring 2023 exhibition, Queer Love: Affection and Romance in Contemporary Art. 

Moderated by David Schwittek, associate professor of Digital Media and Graphic Design in the Art Department of Lehman College.

Sara Little Turnbull Visiting Designer Speaker Series - Fridays, 1:00 p.m.

The Sara Little Turnbull Foundation Visiting Designer Speaker Series in Spring 2022 brings together visiting speakers to discuss design in the context of climate change in conjunction with a special topics undergraduate course in the Art Department entitled "Climate Design"and the exhibition in the Lehman Art Gallery, "Eco-Urgency: Now or Never".

All talks are held on Friday at 1:00 p.m. and are online.

This semester, the Lehman College Art Department and the Lehman College Art Gallery are hosting another Visiting Speaker Series on the topic of the Art Gallery's exhibition: "Eco-Urgency: Now or Never?"

The first speaker in the series is James Mahon, Dean of the School of Arts and Humanities.

He will be speaking on Environmental Ethics  - or Why Should I Care About The Environment?

On Friday, Feb. 18, at 3:00 p.m., Lehman Honors is delighted to present Catherine Kapphahn (Department of English and Disability Studies Program) reading from her work-in-progress:

 "Miseducation of a Dyslexic Girl"

with a Q&A and responses from the Disability Studies Program faculty.
 
Catherine Kapphahn is the author of "Immigrant Daughter: Stories You Never Told Me", which won The Center for Fiction's Christopher Doheny Award.
