Lehman College and Community Chamber Orchestra: Changing Times Concert
7:00 PM - 8:30 PM

The Lehman College and Community Chamber Orchestra will give its winter performance entitled Changing Times on Wednesday, December 13, at 7:00 pm in the Hearth Room, on the 3rd floor of the Music Building. The public is invited; admission is free, but all donations are gratefully accepted.

Directed by Professor Kyunghun Kim, the performance will feature Beethoven’s, Symphony No.1, an early work of his but highly regarded as very characteristic of his style. Renowned pianist and Lehman faculty member Molly Morkosky will play the lyrical 2nd movement of Mozart’s Piano Concerto No.20 accompanied by the orchestra, and rounding out the program will be the Prelude to Verdi’s opera “La Traviata” in which the composer’s melodic charm and beauty shine.

Concert - Lehman College and Community Chorus

The Lehman College and Community Chorus will present its annual free Winter Concert on Sunday, December 7, 2014 at  2:30 PM in the Lehman Concert Hall. The program will feature Part 1 of Handel's Messiah, and the finale of Part 3.

Directed by Lehman Professor Diana Mittler-Battipaglia and accompanied by the Lehman Chamber Orchestra, the 150 member chorus will also perform the finale of Act 2 from Die Fledermaus by Johann Strauss and shorter works by Rutter, and Handel, as well as multicultural seasonal selections. In addition, the program will feature an excerpt from Respighi's Ancient Airs and Dances, and a sing-along for the audience. Members of the chorus and soloists include Lehman students, alumni, faculty, staff, and a broad selection of residents from many communities in the Bronx and the greater New York area.
