The Lehman College and Community Band will open its 2018-2019 season with “Autumn Ramble,” a musical stroll through the season featuring works by Arturo Márquez, Alfred Reed, and Gustav Holst on SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 18 at 2:00 p.m. in the Lovinger Theater. The concert is open to the public and admission is free; donations are welcome.
The “Autumn Ramble” concert will feature Lehman College alumni, faculty, staff, students and community members. The trombone soloists featured in Serenade for Trombone, a work in memory of trombone virtuoso and teacher Moe Snyder, includes Walter Barrett, Rob Stattel, Daniel Leviatin, and Ray Fitzgerald—all either former students or colleagues of Snyder.
Also on the program will be the Mexican contemporary Danzon No. 2 by Márquez, the modernized Jitterbug by Buckley, and the joyful Italian Rhapsody by Julie Giroux, as well as other works. | Speech and Theatre Building - (Lovinger Theatre) |
