Event Description:
Noted astronomer, educator, and writer Jeffrey Bennett will be giving two talks: (1) "Math for Life" and (2) "On teaching Science."

Dr. Jeffrey Bennett holds a B.A. in biophysics from the University of California at San Diego and an M.S. and Ph.D. in astrophysics from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He specializes in mathematics and science education.

This event is sponsored by the Lehman College Quantitative Literacy Program, The STEM Coordinating Committee, The School of Education, and The Office of the Associate Provost and Dean for Research

Schedule
9:00 AM to 9:30 AM: Continental Breakfast (Lehman College Music Building, Room 313)
9:30 AM to 11:30 AM: “Math for Life” and discussion of how we can effectively improve students’ quantitative reasoning (QR) Skills at CUNY (Lehman College Music Building, Room 306)
12:30 PM to 1:45 PM: “On Teaching Science” (Lehman College Music Building, Room 306)

There will be a one hour break for lunch from 11:30 to 12:30 PM.
