7:00 PM | CONCERT - "Halloween Haunts" Lehman College and Community Band
The Lehman College and Community Band will open its 2022-23 season with “Halloween Haunts,” an intriguing collection of wind band music for Halloween Eve. This performance, which is free and open to the public, will take place on Sunday, October 30, at 7 p.m. in the Lovinger Theatre on the Lehman College campus.
Directed by Professor Alan Hollander, the program will feature supernatural-themed works including “Night on Bald Mountain” by Mussorgsky and Grieg’s “March of the Trolls.” Also on the program is “March to the Scaffold” from Berlioz’ Symphonie Fantastique and the Spanish wedding march “La Boda de Luis Alonso” by Giménez. In addition, Oboe soloist Dorothy Darlington will perform Barnes’ “Autumn Soliloquy.” Rounding out the program will be Donizetti’s “Overture to Don Pascuale, “God’s Country” by Galante, and “Fanfare Forza” by Balmages.
