Event Description: Since March, biologists have been racing to learn more about COVID-19 and the new coronavirus that causes it. What have they learned? What is left to be discovered? As we head into fall and a possible “second wave,” hear from two expert biologists, professors from the Lehman College Department of Biology, who will explain the biology of a virus, what makes coronaviruses unique among them; what scientists have learned about “long haulers”–those with immune responses associated with chronic coronavirus infections; and virus detection, treatment and vaccine development.
